We offer a range of clinics and services at the surgery. There are some tasks you can do, such as health reviews, using the Anima service.
The practice offers a wide range of basic and enhanced NHS clinical services. These include:
- Antenatal and postnatal checks
- Asthma
- COPD
- Spirometry clinic
- BP management clinic
- Baby and preschool immunisation clinic
- Cardiovascular disease clinic
- C-Card issuing for under 25’s, and issuing condoms if a valid c-card is already in place
- Cervical screening
- Chlamydia screening for under 25’s
- Coil removal/refit/fitting
- Cryotherapy clinic
- Diabetic clinic
- Dressings
- Flu vaccination clinics
- General contraceptive counselling
- Implant fitting (contraceptive implant)
- Minor operation (joint injections and incision/excision procedures)
- Pneumococcal vaccination clinics travel health and vaccinations
If you require the health visiting team, they are based at a central hub and can be contacted directly on 0300 300 0123.
If you are aged 75 or over and have not had a consultation with a clinician in the past 12 months, you can request an annual health check-up from your GP surgery. Our reception team will be happy to help.
What might a health review involve?
Depending on your individual circumstances, a member of the Nursing team may discuss with you:
- Your general wellbeing and lifestyle, including diet, exercise and alcohol consumption.
- Relevant checks or tests, where appropriate, such as blood pressure monitoring , weight or blood tests.
- Information about local services or support that may be available to you.
Please note that the content of any review will depend on your health needs and clinical judgement, and not all of the above will be required for every patient.
Other important screenings for over-75s
Beyond the annual check, you should be aware of other screenings you may need to request as you get older:
- Bowel cancer screening: While people aged 60 to 74 are sent a home testing kit automatically, those aged 75 or over need to request one by calling the free bowel screening helpline on 0800 707 6060.
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) screening: Men are automatically invited for a screening when they turn 65. If you are a man over 75 and have not been screened, you can contact your local AAA screening service directly to request a test.
How to arrange your check-up
To book a general health check-up, contact GP surgery directly. This can often be done by speaking with our friendly receptionist.
Midwifery services
The midwife clinics are held at Dereham Hospital. Please contact the midwifery team on 01603 481222.
Travel vaccinations
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel, please contact the practice. This should include the countries and the areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
It is important to submit this questionnaire as early as possible, at least six weeks before you travel. The nurse will review your questionnaire and then the surgery will call you to make a convenient travel health appointment.
Your travel health appointment needs to be at least two weeks before you travel, to allow time for any vaccines to work. The nurse will provide travel health advice, information and the following vaccines free of charge:
- Hepatitis A
- Typhoid
- Diphtheria, tetanus and polio
There is currently a national shortage of hepatitis A and typhoid vaccinations. The surgery will only be able to administer these vaccines if they are in stock. This is beyond our control.
Some travel vaccines are not available at this surgery, and they will need to be administered at a dedicated travel clinic, for which there may be a charge. Travel clinics can be found locally at:

Anti-malarial medication is not available on the NHS. Please speak to your local pharmacy who will be able to help you.
